Ryan Day: Ohio State Football Run Game; Spartans, Illini Tip Off

Ohio State football coach Ryan Day commented publicly for the first time on running backs coach Tony Alford leaving for the same gig with Michigan Football. He was pretty low key so we will read between the lines. Day also said the Buckeyes running game will look a lot different under new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. What does that mean for Ohio State football? We will try to figure that out on Locked on Big 10.

NEW NEBRASKA A.D.
Meanwhile, Nebraska found its new Athletic Director days after Trev Alberts announced he was leaving for the same gig at Texas A&M. That was quick!

We have some bad news for Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz regarding incoming transfer offensive lineman Kayden Proctor. Apparently he is homesick…for Alabama. That’s too bad. The Hawkeyes really could have used him.

SPARTANS AND ILLINI TIP OFF
Tom Izzo and his Michigan State basketball team are ready to begin NCAA Tournament play Thursday against Mississippi State. And Illinois Basketball begins play vs Moorehead State as the Fighting Illini are led by fire-hot Terrence Shannon Jr. We will preview both games. Speaking of college basketball who is going to be the next coach at Michigan to replace Juwan Howard? We have some ideas.

Finally, we look toward the weekend schedule on the Big 10 Network with Classics and Live Action.
