Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan football team are poised to win tonight’s college football national championship against the Washington Huskies in Houston. It won’t be easy because Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has incredible touch down field and three future NFL receivers. But Michigan has the top ranked scoring defense in the country. Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter may be able to focus on the Huskies pass attack if injured running back Dillon Johnson isn’t at full strength.
Speaking of running attack, Blake Corum, Blake Corum, Blake Corum. Expect a heavy dose of power runs by the Wolverines offense. That’s their bread and butter and stopping the run is a weakness for the Huskies defense.
This game comes down to which team can impose its style on the other. And, frankly, that’s just what Michigan football does week in and week out.
