Jim Harbaugh’s Contract Extension a Poison Pill?

Is Jim Harbaugh’s contract extension a poison pill? The University of Michigan offered football coach Jim Harbaugh a 5 year – 55 million dollar contract extension. It will make him the highest paid football coach in the Big 10 and the second highest paid coach in the country behind Alabama coach Nick Saban. It’s a generous offer considering he was suspended for half the season and there may be more NCAA suspensions looming in 2024. Jim Harbaugh could always jump ship and head to the NFL, right? The idea crossed his mind before. However, Michigan would like Harbaugh to sign a statement that he will not pursue any NFL coaching gigs while under contract with Michigan football. We don’t think he will sign it, and we’ll tell you why on Locked on Big 10.

We also dive into the latest Big 10 transfer portal news and we tell you why Penn State defensive coordinator Manny Diaz should have turned down the Duke head coaching job.

Finally, we close out our podcast with Tuesday Tweets. Enjoy! It’s all on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.
