The Iowa Hawkeyes can win the Big 10 West and earn a spot in the Big 10 Championship game if they beat the Illinois Fighting Illini Saturday. The injury-plagued Hawkeyes have lost another important piece to coach Kirk Ferentz’s team. Defensive back and electric punt returner Cooper DeJean injured his lower leg in practice Wednesday. He will not return this season. We’ll see if the Iowa Hawkeyes can win without him.
Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh will serve his full three game suspension for SpyGate, Michigan will drop its lawsuit against the Big 10 and the Big 10 will no longer continue its SpyGate-sign stealing investigation. Oh yea, and Michigan has a road game against the Maryland Terps. If the Wolverines win, it will be their 1000th victory in school history.
Upcoming Conference Games
Northwestern removed the ‘interim’ tag from coach David Braun’s title as the Wildcats look for win number 6 and a bowl bid if they defeat the Purdue Boilermakers.
Both the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Wisconsin Badgers need one more win to become bowl eligible as they face off at Camp Randall. Locked on Big 10 will go live on YouTube at halftime of this game.
Rutgers is at Penn State as the Nittany Lions play their first game since James Franklin fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. The Michigan State Spartans travel to Bloomington to take on the Indiana Hoosiers. And the Minnesota Golden Gophers head to Columbus, Ohio to face the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes dropped from #1 to #2 in the college football playoff poll this week but they are playing outstanding football right now.
