EXPANSION: Big Ten Media Days | Commissioner Tony Petitti

Big Ten Media Days are underway in Indianapolis this week and Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti kicked off the 2024 college football season with his annual State of the Conference address. He welcomed new schools USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington as they officially join the Big Ten August 2.

PETITTI: ACADEMICS IMPORTANT FOR EXPANSION
Petitti also mentioned three times how important academics are and how AAU accreditation will make the addition of these new schools seamless and it will help bolster the reputation of the Big Ten. He did not mention Florida State and Clemson by name but they are trying to sue their way out of the ACC so they can join a conference with a better TV deal. But joining the Big Ten may be difficult because they are not AAU schools.

Nevertheless, the present and future are bright for the Big Ten as it gets ready for the upcoming 2024 college football season. We have the latest news from Big Ten Media Days on the future of the Big Ten Football Championship site and more.

NETFLIX: SPYGATE
Also, have you heard Netflix is going to feature former Michigan assistant football coach Connor Stalions in its 4th season of “Untold?” Its August 27 episode is called “Sign Stealer.” Stalions was ground-zero for Michigan’s sign stealing controversy in 2023.
