Caitlin Clark and Iowa Hawkeyes 3-Peat Big 10 Tournament Title

Despite trailing most to the day, super star player Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes came from behind to force overtime and beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers to win their third straight Big 10 Women’s Tournament Championship Sunday with a 94-89 victory. It didn’t come easy as Caitlin Clark missed her first nine three-point attempts and the Iowa basketball team trailed by 11 points at the half. But Clark scored 30 of her 34 points after the break and now wait to see if they will be a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament next week.

ALREADY?
Meanwhile, Matt Painter and the Purdue Boilermakers closed out their regular season with a win over Wisconsin. Then something very rare occurred. The Boilermakers retired 7-4 big-man Zach Edey’s jersey during their post-game senior day festivities. Edey became the first person to score both 2200 points and haul in 1200 rebounds in the Big 10. So his jersey retirement is valid. But normally we wait a few years before such a ceremony takes place, right? Not in West Lafayette!

Over the weekend Michigan football lost its running backs coach Mike Hart due to personal reasons. The departure of the former star Wolverines player will be a big blow in Ann Arbor.
