UNDERDOG ILLINOIS FIGHTING ILLINI vs PENN STATE NITTANY LIONS
The Big Ten features a huge college football game between two AP Top 25 teams when the Illinois Fighting Illini travel to Happy Valley to face a proud Penn State football team. Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin is asking Penn State fans to bring White Out energy. Illinois Brett Bielema talked about White Out energy, “whatever the hell that means.” We cannot wait.
But why is Illinois a 17 point underdog in this game? Illinois became the first FBS college football team to beat two Top 25 teams this season when they beat Nebraska, at Nebraska, in overtime last week. Win or lose, Illinois deserves more respect. We will tell you why.
We give shout outs to this week’s Big Ten players of the week before we close the books on Week 4.
Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore announced his starting quarterback for their game against Minnesota Saturday. Is it Alex Orji? And will such announcements become a weekly occurrence?
Speaking of quarterbacks, Ohio State’s Will Howard is thrilled with offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. We will tell you why. And the Wisconsin Badgers are reshuffling the lineup ahead of their trip out west to play a grumpy USC Trojans team in Los Angeles.
Finally, we break out our mid-week Big Ten Football Power Rankings. See if you agree with our list. It is all here on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.
