The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes had a solid weekend. The Michigan Wolverines mighty football team is getting better each week. Jim Harbaugh and his stellar defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns against PJ Fleck and his Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Wolverines can do whatever they want on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, the determined Maryland Terps gave the Ohio State football team all it could handle before Ryan Day and his talented squad woke up. Quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. filled up the stat page as the Buckeyes scored 27 unanswered points to win big.
This game answered the question about whether a previously undefeated Maryland Terps football team was as good as Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes. Or the Penn State Nittany Lions, who had a bye week. Terps coach Mike Locksley and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa will go back to the drawing board.
Around the Big 10
Elsewhere around the conference, speedy Ricardo Hallman and his 95 yard interception return for a touchdown at the end of the half led the Wisconsin Badgers to a win over the stubborn Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The underappreciated Iowa Hawkeyes improved to 5-1 behind running back Kaleb Johnson and dazzling defensive back Cooper DeJean who hauled in another interception. The Northwestern Wildcats tripled last year’s win total with a victory over Howard. The feisty Nebraska Cornhuskers earned coach Matt Rhule his first conference win Friday night at Illinois vs the struggling Fighting Illini.
