Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes answered Notre Dame’s amazing 18 play opening scoring drive with 31 unanswered points. And Ohio State beat the Irish 34-23 to win the college football national championship. Ohio State quarterback Will Howard completed his first 13 passes and running back Quinshon Judkins opened the second half with a 70 yard run to set up another Buckeyes touchdown.
Following an Emeka Egbuka fumble Notre Dame made things interesting by driving the field behind the play of Riley Leonard. On 4th and goal down two scores, Marcus Freeman decided to kick a field goal but Mitch Jeter missed a 27 yarder and the Buckeyes defense held.
In the end the Ohio State Buckeyes had too many weapons for the Irish to keep up and the Big Ten continued its dominance of college football by winning back to back national championships (Michigan won last year)!
We will also take a moment to look ahead to the upcoming 2025 fall football season which promises to be better than ever. Will the Big Ten win a third straight college football national championship? Maybe. We discuss it here, LIVE, on Locked on Big 10 with Craig Shemon.
