The Iowa Hawkeyes win ugly (6-1) after a satisfactory road win over the Wisconsin Badgers. Iowa football is what it is. A touchdown, two field goals and a safety are all they need to win a Big 10 conference game. That’s about as Iowa football as Iowa football can get! At this point, instead of complaining about the team’s lack of offense the last two and a half years, it’s time to embrace this style of play Hawkeyes fans. Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz has won a lot of games over the last 25 years like this. Heck, the Hawkeyes punter Tory Taylor might be this team’s MVP. Seriously.
Elsewhere, following the c win over the Purdue Boilermakers, both teams prepare to square off in a massive matchup in Columbus, Ohio Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Michigan Wolverines, behind Jim Harbaugh and his team’s stellar performance vs the Indiana Hoosiers will have to wait before they play both Penn State and Ohio State later in the season.
And let’s not forget to congratulate the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for their win over the Michigan State Spartans after being down by 18 points in the second half. Plus, more congrats are offered to the Illinois Fighting Illini for their last-second win over the Maryland Terps. Illinois had been struggling but found a way to win. The Terps started (5-0) but have now lost 2 in a row after last weekend’s loss at Ohio State.
We also have our Big 10 Top 10 observations from the weekend. It’s all coming up on the Locked on Podcast with Craig Shemon.
