Iowa Football Quarterback Problem. And it May Not Matter.

The Iowa football college football season is around the corner and it does not look like the Hawkeyes have a great quarterback situation. For a team led by anyone other then Kirk Ferentz that might be a problem. But, like last year, the 2024 season method of operation looks the same for the Hawkeyes: Run the ball, toss to tight ends, no turnovers, punt when necessary and let the defense keep you in the game. That is Iowa football.

That philosophy may be outdated to the days of leather helmets for some. But the Iowa football team rode that philosophy to 10 wins and an appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game last season.

Early reports indicate that returning quarterback Cade McNamara is struggling and his backup, surprise Northwestern transfer Brendan Sullivan, is not faring much better. But keep in mind these guys are going against one of the stingiest defenses in college football. Tune in as we analyze this situation a bit further.
