Former LSU football coach Ed Orgeron reportedly expressed interest in the recently vacated Northwestern football coaching job in the Big 10. Northwestern University fired football coach Pat Fitzgerald Monday for alleged hazing within the school’s football program, though Fitzgerald denied knowledge of the hazing.
Orgeron won a national championship with quarterback Joe Burrow during an undefeated 2019 season at LSU. He was fired two seasons later after going 11-11 following the title. Orgeron is a good coach and a great recruiter, but is he a good fit at Northwestern? It seems crazy! We weigh the pros and cons.
