Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule prepares for his first season in charge of the Cornhuskers. Former coach Scott Frost lost five games by seven points or less last season and lost his job. It’s a complete rebuild for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team in Lincoln. Rhule took a lowly Temple football program and quickly turned it around. Baylor University noticed and hired Rhule to Waco. He turned that brutal program around and caught the eye of the NFL, where the Carolina Panthers reset the coaching market by throwing tons of money at him. However, that is where Rhule’s track of success ended. The Panthers never fixed their quarterback situation and fired Rhule after an 11-27 record. The once proud Nebraska Cornhuskers program was in desperate need of a fix and offered Rhule over 9 million dollars a year to deliver Nebraska back to the top of the college football world.
