The Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Maryland Terps asserted themselves as the upper echelon teams in the Big 10 with huge blowout wins this weekend. Actually, all seven Big 10 games featured double digit margin of victories. And while no nail-biters occurred, a handful of teams are separating themselves from the rest of the pack. Starting with Taulia Tagovailoa and his 6 touchdown performance over the Indiana Hoosiers, the Maryland Terps are undefeated ahead of this weekend’s showdown with The Ohio State Buckeyes. The Michigan Wolverines defense remains elite after giving up a lone, late touchdown against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. And after Penn State entered the locker room tied at halftime with the Northwestern Wildcats, the Nittany Lions rolled to a big win on the road. Penn State’s defense forced 7 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. Defense remains the name of the game in the Big 10.
Meanwhile, while the Iowa Hawkeyes continue to struggle to score points, they ironically improved their record to 4-1. However, starting Hawkeyes quarterback Cade McNamara left the game with a leg injury. But Iowa Hawkeyes DB Cooper DeJean continues to be a star. He had an interception and ran a punt back for a touchdown.
