Who will be #2 in the Big Ten? Are Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan Wolverines football team head and shoulders above everybody else in the Big 10? Are Ryan Day and his Ohio State Buckeyes football team right there with the Wolverines or are they a half notch below? We learned the Penn State Nittany Lions might not be all we thought they could be as #2 in the Big Ten. Earlier in the season we wondered if the Maryland Terps 5-0 start was a sign they were ready to join the conversation but two straight losses says otherwise.
And no matter who comes out of the West, whether it be the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Wisconsin Badgers or the Minnesota Golden Gophers, will they be the annual sacrificial lamb opponent in the Big 10 Championship game?
Speaking of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kirk Ferentz and his team have to swallow that tough loss to Minnesota an extra week due to the bye in their schedule.
We also started thinking about the USC Trojans and how they might fair in the Big 10 defensive arms race – with no defense to speak of.
