The mighty Michigan Wolverines are better than the Georgia Bulldogs. Let the debate begin!
First of all, when we watch Jim Harbaugh and his team, it appears they are not trying. We know they are trying. It just seems like everything comes so easy for them. Starters like Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy are usually on the bench by the fourth quarter because their games are done and dusted by then. We’d also point out, that these easy wins may actually cost McCarthy a shot at the Heisman Trophy because he’s not on the field compiling huge stats.
We respect the Georgia Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart. They are really good. But the Michigan football team is better.
Unlike the last two seasons, the Bulldogs seem a step below elite. And the Wolverines appear to be able to play any style of football necessary at any given time.
We respect the SEC. They are really good. But the Big 10 is better.
The Michigan Wolverines, the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions are all ranked in the top 6.
Looking ahead to next year, the Washington Huskies, the Oregon Ducks, and the USC Trojans are all ranked in the Top 10 and those programs are months away from joining the Big 10.
The great part of this debate is that both the Michigan Wolverines and the Georgia Bulldogs play their toughest opponents at the end of the season. Those games will be followed by respective Conference Championship games and College Football Playoff games. We won’t truly know until the end. These debates will work themselves out. They always do. But until then, it seems the Michigan Wolverines and the Georgia Bulldogs are on a collision course with a National Championship at stake.
Finally, we’ve been so busy with weekend games you may not have noticed the Big 10 re-issued it’s football opponent schedule for the next five years to accommodate the arrival of Oregon and Washington next season. It’s great. But it does have some quirks we will examine.
