As the college football season nears where 12 teams will get into the expanded playoffs, we wonder how many Big Ten teams will make the field. Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule recently said 4 Big Ten teams will make the college football playoffs.
4 B1G PLAYOFF TEAMS!
In fact, Rhule suggested 4 Big Ten teams should get in every year. With the addition of USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon, playing in the Big Ten is like playing in the NFL each week. And he should know since he once coached the Carolina Panthers.
By the way, we agree with Rhule. We also think 4 Big Ten teams will make the show. But didn’t we expand the playoffs in order to allow more schools, like Group of 5 schools, more access to the playoffs? If the Big Ten and the SEC both put 4 teams into the playoffs, have we changed much? We play the numbers game and make our predictions for the 2024 college football playoffs count.
WILDCATS DUPLICATE 8 WINS?
We continue to look in on each Big Ten camp and today we wonder if the Northwestern Wildcats can repeat their amazing 8 win season from last year as Big Ten Coach of the Year David Braun returns for year two! We must warn Wildcats fans that the schedule looks tough with back to back dates against Michigan and Ohio State. Good Luck!
